A friend of mine raised a concern that when you are promoting Punjabi language and culture why the language used is English ? It should also be Punjabi. Well I fully agree to the fact. If we are promoting Punjabi, the very first thing is that the language used for that promotion campaign has to be Punjabi. No second thought here. Now another thing that bugs me a bit is that some percentage of Punjabi people (pretty good portion, I guess) cannot read Gurmukhi (That is why I am writing this post in English). So if we write in Gurmukhi aren’t we missing them as a target of our message ? They won’t be interested in trying to read this. ...
