While dealing with anything remotely related to money, the last thing i like to do is going to bank.  Most of the time, i try to do it online but some things are such that there is no other way out. One of my friend and his wife had to get their US visa stamped and he asked me to go to HDFC bank and get the receipts after paying the visa fees. I have done it before also. So it was not expected to be a big deal. Just go to HDFC bank, fill the form, submit the cash required and get it. But when God wants some adventure in your life ;) there pops out some way of making you have it. I went to HDFC bank and asked that lady about it. First she uttered something while giving those forms (Thanks to those beautiful looking glass windows with holes of size of  the  eye of a sparrow, you can hardly understand what they speak). Then she said that they have stopped taking cash for this and you have to pay through cheque or Demand Draft (DD). So i asked (on some different counter)  if i can get DD made by paying cash ? He said NO; you need to have an account in HDFC bank. After all the beauty it was time to leave and postpone it to tomorrow.

But after getting back to office, i checked with another bank if they could make it by cash and thank God the answer was YES. So it was all set for tomorrow as half of the stuff would get done here itself. So i totalled the amount (Visa Fees & HDFC bank charges) and got 2 DDs done (for 2 people).

Today was the next wonder day to go to HDFC bank. So i reached there, with a fear in mind that now she will say that you need to get 1 DDs each for Visa fees and HDFC bank charges. This total thing was of no use. The same thing happened. So those hard worked DDs were of no use and a new strategy was required. So i called one of my friend to come with his cheque book of ICICI bank (He will bring his cheque book to office was a pre-planned stuff, due to the above fear ;) ). So he also reached and started the process for new DDs. To add icing on the cake, ICICI bank’s software went slow (or some similar crap) and it took more than an hour to get it done. Finally we went back to HDFC bank and THANK GOD it was all right. There i was with 2 receipts, after so much of hard work !

Then to release some frustration we had a Cappuccino at Cafe Coffee Day ;) .

I have almost always hated going to doctors, be it a small clinic or some big hospital. I always try to avoid it till last when there is no other option left. Then also, i would prefer to go to some clinic where a doctor sits and checks the patients rather then going to some multi-story hospital where there are more doctors and assistants than patients. Otherwise also, i am not very fond of royal lifestyle. But as i said when there is no option left, one has to take the call. Today was something like that only. I was having flu’ish, cough’ish and bit of fever’ish feeling since morning. Due to the viral attack these days, thought about going to some doctor in the evening. There is a good doctor in the locality. So i thought about going to him. Never knew it was a golden season for doctors, i reached there anddddd his clinic was full like an over-loaded train. I just got my name noted by his assistant and came back home to go after 1 hour or so. I went again after 1 and 1/2 hour but again had to wait for almost 30 minutes for my turn. Finally i got my turn. He asked few questions and started writing the medicines. Man he was going on and on and on. Finally after making 5 entries; few tablets, capsules and a syrup he stopped. Then he also asked to get a Blood & Urine test done tomorrow (one more worry to be taken care of :( ). So after all this game, here i am writing this post and medicines on my left side asking for attention :( .

PS: Oh yes, why this title ? Actually when i went for the first time and his assistant noted my name, i asked how long i have to wait ? He said may be 1 hour or so. There are 31 people before you. So ideally i was 32nd in the queue but 31st just looks a bit fancy so i chose 31 ;)

It is a tough question to answer that whether cleaning your house would be tough if you are a bachelor or you were married as in first case you clean your room and might assist your roommate in cleaning his and in latter case you assist your better half in cleaning the whole house ;) . Anyways, i haven’t gone through the latter one but today was the day for experiencing the first one. It has been pending since long time and we had been planning it since pretty long. Everything was terribly screwed up and needed attention. Finally that fine Sunday came and now everything has been cleaned and set properly. As usual, what i liked the most is my books shelf which is just looking too good after arranging everything properly ;)

books

Next on agenda is to clean my laptop of all the clutter around ie files, folders etc etc…

The way earth smells like when it has just started raining…

The sound of rain…

The sound…when you wake up from sound sleep in the middle of night and notice that it is raining outside…

You go out just after it has stopped raining…

Smell of the new book you purchased today…

You are sleeping in the room…sound the pages of book lying aside make when wind from an open window turns some of them…

A small kid smiling…

You are sad and call from someone you care for…

You bloody

I had to write this post yesterday night but couldn’t. For “Why” just read on…

Yesterday there was an official team cocktail cum dinner thing. So many interesting things. One being the dinner turning a “why the heck we are not able to do it ?” discussion ;) While this discussion was going on, people were also enjoying their drinks as it was supposed to be a drinks n dine thing ;) . After some time people started proceeding towards dinner and the big guys left. And here starts the second session, the after dinner thing. BTW out of those present till last, who all had their dinner, well, don’t know :D . Again there started some discussion. Till then 4-5 of them had got full talli and were enjoying to their fullest. One got stuck in “you bloody” (& yes thats why the title) and then everything he uttered started and ended with you know what ?  “you bloody” ;) So finally we pushed everyone to leave for home and came out of the venue. One champ puked and threw everything out there itself. Ahhhh…relaxed ! One guy had a car and he had to drop us to home (oh yes he was also talli :) ). So somehow we managed to reach home (me, 3 others including that Puke master from the previous scene. Please note that me & another guy were non-drinkers so in control of everything :D ). We live on 3rd floor so reaching there was also a struggle. Anyhow they managed it. Now out of us four there was one left who was talli and hadn’t puked and perfectly as expected he just fell on the bed and OKAY ;) . The best, when we checked after some time, he had also thrown out everything on the bed itself and was sleeping in complete peace :P . It was dirty man, two others also vomited after that and i felt like vomiting. So finally it was 2 AM when we tried to sleep. Now its morning and they are stuck in hangover and i in sleepover :D

A party turned bad !

Kids…smiles…smiles…

Today me and my friend travelled in Metro. When we boarded there were no seats so we had to go standing. We looked for a position in a corner. I was feeling sleepy so i came to the opposite door corner to slip into some semi-nap position ;) .  After some time a man boarded with his baby daughter. They were also standing. And the girl was very excited to travel in the Metro and then looking around. “papa hum shat se b ooper hain…metro chal padi…bahar kitna acha hai”. I asked her to come to corner and she was so happy. Her Dad said “bhaiya ka haath pakad lo”. She held my hand and was enjoying to her fullest. Then she asked “papa hum kab uttarnge jab train aage jeygi ?” He said yes. After some time she again asked “papa hum kab uttarenge jab train wapis peeche jayegi”. He again said yes. And she replied “abhi to aap keh rahe the jab aage jeygi fir uttarange” :D We were all in laughter. At one station there was a poster of of the movie Chandi Chowk to China. She was so excited chaani chowk to china…chaani chown to china… At the next station they de-boarded and he said “thanks bolo”. Littlie said thanks and tata…till then i had forgotton all my sleep and was just smiling.

Kids are just wonderful !

While surfing i came across an old (of 2007) piece of news in a newspaper which is worth mentioning. Especially today when we are lost in the darkness of terrorism, riots and violence. Its the story of a girl that how her fate played games with her but finally after 24 years she was able to find her father again. God does wonders ! The most touching emotion is when she said:

But memories of her father continued to haunt her — of how he had doted on her, carrying her on his shoulders to school on rainy days so she didn’t dirty her feet.

And then she got separated from her father :( . Read the whole story here.

Probably, i observe too much. And that is a problem sometimes, something gets stuck in your head and it makes you keep thinking about it, all the time. This post is not about anything really. Just a post, i should say. I go to office by local bus and bus stop is just 4-5 minutes walk from my house. Generally i reach 5 minutes before the time of the bus. Now it has been pretty good time and i almost recognize all the daily passengers (probably they recognize me too). Sometime standing there, there are so many things to observe and notice. Life…at its full speed. People are going to their offices. Rikshaw wallas are waiting for their daily passengers to help them reach their destinations. Buses seem to be swiftly doing their daily duty. If we try to notice peoples’ faces some are serious, some sad and few happy. With these mobile phones with FM radio becoming so popular most of the people are seen talking on the phone or having plugged in the ear piece and listening to radio. That have actually reduced the interaction with fellow passengers in country like India. People sit quietly and play their music. These days DTC has started some AC buses so some changes are there to be seen signifying some improvements. Traffic still moves almost in a stupid and irritating manner. We Indians have not learned to obey the rules. Probably a rule is required to make people obey the rules.

All goes uninterrupted and then there is something like blasts to shatter everything. Normalcy takes a break for sometime. The bad memories fade and we again see people going, buses running and so on…

That is what life is…

This whole week was pretty frustrating, irritating and boring. Didn’t do much work and neither felt like doing. Thank God its Friday. Hoping to have some rest on Sat & Sun and then be ready to happily face the next week ;)
