I googled a bit and […]

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. You’ll soon find out why. I’ll step up the volume soon, I promise.
This evening, I came across an old favorite site written by my friend Mogens Nørgaard of Miracle Denmark. If you’ve ever gotten a call from a telemarketer and wanted to hang up but didn’t want to seem rude, then visit WeDoNotUse.com.
Click on «Stories and answers».
It’s laugh-out-loud funny. And it works.

Microsoft officially made Windows Vista service pack available for public downloads on March 18, 2008. Earlier Windows vista service pack 1 (sp1) was available for downloads to only Microsoft TechNet subscribers.
How to download Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Windows Vista Service pack 1 (SP1) is available as a standalone direct downloads and download via Windows Vista update programs.
- Go to Microsoft TechNet’s Windows Vista service pack download link or click on download links below.
- Scroll down to “Get Windows Vista Service pack 1” and click on windows update to download Service pack by vista update program. If you want to download Service pack in standalone format then select 64 bit or 32 bit downloads based on what version of Windows Vista you are running on your PC.
Windows Vista service pack 1 (SP1) standalone 32 bit (x86) download is 434.5 MB is size, takes approx. 45 minutes to download on T1 link. However Windows Vista service pack 1 (SP1) 64 bit download size is 726.5 MB, this could take an hour for download to complete.
I prefer downloading windows vista service pack 1 (SP1-KB936330) update via windows vista update programs.Direct download of windows vista service pack only works on internet explorer, for users running firefox browsers they have to use only standalone version of vista service pack 1(SP1) downloads. But Windows vista service pack 1 (SP1) downloads is higly recommended to avoid any drivers issues.
A must read before downloading Windows Vista Service Pack1 (SP1)
- As of now Windows Vista (Service pack 1)SP1 is available in English, French, German, Spanish, and Japanese.
- Microsoft strongly recommends using Windows Update to download and install Windows Vista (Service pack 1) SP1 on single PCs:
- The download size from Windows Update of Windows Vista SP1 for x86 is 65 MB (compared to 450 MB from the Microsoft Download Center), so download time will be much faster compared to standalone downloads. For me it took 30 minutes to download and install the vista service pack 1.
- The download size from Windows Update of Windows Vista SP1 for x64 is 125 MB (compared to 745 MB from the Microsoft Download Center).
- Windows Vista Update will recognize PCs with known problematic drivers and postpone downloading Windows Vista (Service pack 1) SP1 until the PC has updated drivers or other applicable updates. Using Windows Update will help ensure you have the most trouble-free update experience possible.
- Some Windows Vista users may encounter an issue with a small set of hardware devices that may not function properly after updating a Windows Vista PC to Windows Vista (Service pack 1) SP1. This is an issue with the way the device drivers were re-installed during the Windows Vista SP1 update process, not with the drivers themselves—these drivers worked on Windows Vista RTM and they work on Windows Vista SP1. This problem is typically corrected by simply uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.
- If you choose to install Windows Vista (Service pack 1) SP1 via the standalone installer available on the Microsoft Download Center, Microsoft advises that you first visit Windows Update and install all optional drivers
- If you have a prior version of the Windows Vista (service pack 1) SP1 beta installed, you must uninstall it prior to installing the final version. See my earlier article on How to uninstall Windows Vista service pack 1 (SP1) RC or any other installed beta version of Windows vista Service Pack1 (SP1) (KB936330) from your PC.
