How to delete HP-UX VM (virtual machine):

Deleting HP-UX virtual machine is very easy process, once you determine which HP-UX VM(Integrity VM guest ) needs to be deleted it’s just matter of running one command – hpvmremove:

root@hpvmhost:/tmp> hpvmstatus

[Virtual Machines]

Virtual Machine Name VM # OS Type State #VCPUs #Devs #Nets Memory Runsysid

==================== ===== ======= ========= ====== ===== ===== ======= ========

guest2 4 HPUX Off 1 5 2 8 GB 0

guest1 3 HPUX Off 1 5 1 2 GB 0

root@hpvmhost:/tmp> hpvmremove -P guest2

hpvmremove: Remove the virtual machine ‘guest2′? [n/y]: y

root@hpvmhost:/tmp> hpvmstatus

[Virtual Machines]

Virtual Machine Name VM # OS Type State #VCPUs #Devs #Nets Memory Runsysid

==================== ===== ======= ========= ====== ===== ===== =======

guest1 3 HPUX Off 1 5 1 2 GB 0

Where -P Specifies the unique name of the virtual machine to be deleted.

Check Cluster status on HP-UX – Service Guard (MC):

How to Check Cluster status on HP-UX – Service Guard (MC) :

To check if you are logged on to HP-UX server running MC –Service guard cluster and identify Cluster node status you can run following command as root:

root@prodcluster:/> /usr/sbin/cmviewcl

CLUSTER STATUS

PROD_CLUSTER up

NODE STATUS STATE

nodeA up running

PACKAGE STATUS STATE AUTO_RUN NODE

prodcluster up running enabled nodeA

NODE STATUS STATE

nodeB up running

By running cmviewcl command you can find out status of cluster node on HP-UX and package name , package name is used for public nodename or HP-UX server name that will be available for users on network.

NetApp. New Name, Same Stuff.

Network Appliance has renamed their company a nickname. That just seems strange to me. Different name, same stuff.
And, yes, NFS works nicely for Oracle Database.

Maybe Oracle should be renamed/rebranded to “scott/tiger?”
